Mr. Gonzalo (Gus) Vergara
Founder, President and CEO of Distinctive Personnel
A proud member of the distinguished Strategic Air Command of the United States Air Force until his Honorable Discharge and Disabled Veteran Status in 1976, Mr. Gonzalo Vergara founded Distinctive Personnel in 1983 with the vision of creating a one-of-a-kind staffing agency that acts as a true partner to employees and organizations alike. He is very active in the Hispanic Community.
As President and CEO of Distinctive Personnel, Mr. Vergara is responsible for new and existing business development; finance/capital coordination; marketing, advertising, sales and public relations management; employee quality control and development; risk management; advanced technology procurement, analysis, development and management; and operations management.
As the founder of the largest and Oldest New York State Certified MBE Hispanic-Owned Temporary Staffing and Employment Agency. Mr. Vergara is a proud member of New York’s Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) association. He has also been a member of (NAACP) and the National Minority Business Council (NMBC). His certification can be seen on the Official Directory of Minority Owned Businesses at the New York State Website: www.empire.state.ny.us.
Mr. Jean-Paul Renard

At Just the tender age of 14 years old, Jean-Paul Renard was handing out flyers on the corner of 42nd street and Madison Avenue in New York City for Distinctive Personnel. The flyer read “NEED A JOB?”. Who would have thought that years later Mr. Renard would become the Vice President of Distinctive Personnel and Co-Engineer the plans to become The Largest Hispanic Owned Staffing Agency in New York.
Although Mr. Renard’s daily responsibilities range from heading up Recruitment, Business development and Overall Operations, it is his overall vision of revolutionizing the Staffing World that takes up most of Mr. Renard’s days. Providing the general public with Employment Resource Centers across the United States is just one of the many projects Mr. Renard is engineering. His pursuit of growing expeditiously without compromising his personal attention and staffing expertise to all of the Distinctive Personnel clientele has proven to be the formula for success at Distinctive. Distinctive Personnel has grown to over 32 Executive Recruiters, 400 contractors and has gone across the country to become a bi-coastal organization. Being recognized as one of New York’s Top Staffing Executives, Mr. Renard’s expertise is heavily pursued by CEO’s of successful small to midsize corporations and fortune 500 companies across the globe to assist in difficult to find talent and Diversity hires. Mr.Renard’s approach of treating all candidates and clients alike as “movie stars within their own movie” has built an underground loyal following of thousands of passive candidates that look for career guidance and new opportunities from Mr. Renard and the Distinctive organization.
As a Proud Chilean American, Mr. Renard is very active in the city’s thriving Latino Community. As one of his many accomplishments, Mr. Renard is also the President and CEO of The Hispanic Employment Services.
